Khanyisile Zwane grew up in Meadowlands, Soweto, in South Africa’s Gauteng Province.

She is originally Ndebele, but her father gave her a Zulu name and language. She started acting in high school dramas, which helped her gain confidence.

She received formal acting and artistic instruction from a variety of organizations.

To further her academic career in the arts, she attended DFL at the University of Witswaterstrand, then Market Laboratory and Tsammu Playwrights.
